MSU Tragedy Used to Push Gun Control | GOA Newsletter

Categories Local News, State NewsPosted on

Following the horrific tragedy at MSU, the anti-gun democrats have already decided to politicize the shooting and introduce several unconstitutional bills that don’t actually prevent things like this from happening.

Before the bodies were even cold, anti-gun figureheads were frothing at the mouth to spout how we need more gun laws that definitively would not have stopped this crime.

Background checks did not stop this murderer from obtaining a gun, not having a carry permit did not stop him from carrying the gun, the gun-free zone did not stop him from entering the zone with the gun, and the laws against murder did not stop him from murdering.

Criminals don’t follow the law, and no amount of new gun control would have saved these lives.

What we need to do to mitigate the evil that lurks in our world is allow law abiding adults to protect themselves. These students were prohibited from carrying a firearm on campus property and defending their lives.

Recently introduced Senate Bills 76, 77, and 78 are looking to implement universal background checks.

Senate Bills 79 and 80 would implement mandatory storage laws. This means that, under the guise of public safety, the government can dictate how responsible and lawful gunowners are to “keep and possess” firearms in their own homes.

Senate Bills 83, 84, 85, and 86 implement red flag laws that destroy due process and give the government free rein to take your firearms without any proof of guilt, or crime committed.

These tyrannical bills are not only ineffective but are also blatantly unconstitutional.

Please contact your Senators and Representatives to let them know we will not stand for this.
