Good evening Alcona Patriots and Friends,

As you may know, today was the election for the three (3) Alcona County Commission on Aging’s Board of Directors positions that were open. And after talking with the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the ACCOA, Dr. Robert Turek, he gave us the final vote tallies for this afternoon’s vote.

There were six (6) candidates in the final running for the three (3) open board positions. Below, you can find the document provided by the ACCOA with the short summaries of each candidate. There were a total of 146 individuals who voted in this election, which Dr. Turek noted was up from the last election by about 20 or so members.

The three new Board members are as follows:

  1. Rick Kacel with 85 votes.
  2. Wendy Bain with 79 votes.
  3. Gary Wnuk with 68 votes.

With these final additions to the ACCOA Board, thanks to this special election, the Board now is a full Board once more. We are eager to see what they do going forward and how well the seniors are treated throughout their respective terms. We thank Dr. Turek for sharing these election results with us, so we can in turn, share them with you.
